Southern Crescent Sexual Assault Center offers a variety of services including a 24 hours crisis line, medical and legal accompaniment, counseling, and education.
24 Hour Crisis Line

Southern Crescent Sexual Assault Center offers a free listening and support service for anyone who has been raped, sexually assaulted, sexually harassed or sexually abused recently or in the past. Trained volunteer or staff counselors respond immediately to crisis calls, providing support to callers as well as referrals to community resources. These short-term counseling services are also available to family and friends of survivors.

Medical Accompaniment

Southern Crescent Sexual Assault Center (SCSAC) has a team of trained volunteers and staff who are equipped to offer support to survivors who opt to visit the hospital after an assault. At the hospital, the crisis responder will explain the procedures, the options available to the survivor and helpful resources. In the immediate aftermath of rape, survivors face a host of emotional, medical and legal decisions. SCSAC holds in highest regards the survivor's right to make his/her own decisions and provides the necessary information and support regardless of our personal beliefs or values. A crisis responder can provide information to assist the survivors in making the best possible choices for themselves.

SCSAC works closely with the following three hospitals:

Legal Accompaniment
A full-time staff member supported by volunteers is available to any survivor who decides to pursue their case through the legal system. We guarantee that you do not have to face this daunting process by yourself – someone can be by your side every step of the way. Information and accompaniment are available through all phases of this often complicated process.
Counseling
In addition to our 24 hour crisis line, we offer additional counseling resources. We work closely with local counselors who specialize in the needs of our clients. These services are available upon request.
Education

Southern Crescent Sexual Assault Center offers an array of educational programs tailored to best suit the needs of the audience. The age of the audience is a key factor when developing a program. We have specially designed sessions for school ages K-12, college campuses, community groups, religious institutions, elderly communities and more. The topics range from harassment and bullying to dating violence and healthy relationships.
